Saturday, woke up to a lovely morning where Brockham Football Club held there annual week-end football tournament where about 200 teams battled it out to win a Euro trophy. Enjoyed my time refereeing the under 12's with two other colleagues Tony and Phil. It was uncomfortable at times but as they say 'no pain no gain'.
Sunday was a strange day. Alot was crammed in to make my day special. Firstly I did enjoy very much managing the Brockham under 15 B's. The boys worked hard but didn't quite get the results. I blame the manager on the day, he should get the sack! Come back Martin!!
Then when the Surrey & Sussex helicopter arrived at 10.30am all I could think about was why wasn't Luke on it. He's well again. I just can't seem to come to terms with it that he's not! I keep repeating the same statement I know,he should be here, not me. Got through the afternoon don't know how but I keep saying that.

Many thanks, Neil, for taking the U15Bs on Sunday - I'm sure you achieved more with them than I would have - they certainly were unlucky in the first game - and remember they're not used to having someone who actually knows about football talking to them! Thanks for both your and Sally's help throughout the weekend. I can understand it being a tough day - both your and Sally's bravery are a total inspiration for me personally - as I know it is for the Brockham '08 team as a whole.
hi neil. hope you are well, just to say thanks very much for a fantastic tournament on behalf of Oakwood Football Club. We all enjoyed it immensely, this was without doubt one of the best tournaments i have been to (and i have been to a few haha).

Hi Neil, it's great to be able to leave you a message at last although I'm not really sure what to say. I'm so sorry fo your loss, I cannot imagine what you have been through.
I am delighted that you are making a good recovery (you always were a very fit chap) and getting back to some semblance of normality - even refereeing again!
Seeing the videos and photos has reminded me of the very good times we had at C-T.
